I'm slightly ashamed to say I don't think I can name a single England player, is that Wayne Rooney playing? Maybe I've just named one! The manager is that Italian bloke with the glasses - Fabio somebody? The previous manager was that nice Swedish bloke I think. Why can't they have an English manager anyway?

I've just written down the full extent of my knowledge. I do know they're playing Germany on Sunday, I might even watch it because of the atmosphere thing - it'll probably be the kiss of death if I watch it though. On the other hand the roads will be nice and quiet.........

Should I be taking more interest? Does anybody else on here share my lack of knowledge about the "beautiful game" rolleyes?

Edited to add, I hope the mods don't move this to the sport section where I'll be badly mauled!!

The Grand Prix is on Sunday and we'll be back from Breakfast Club at Goodwood just in time to watch the beginning of the coverage. Football? I think that's on the other channel.

I'm with you. No interest in football, whatsoever. In fact, the complete opposite, a negative interest, if you will.

The World Cup has led to Rest Day cancellations and blocked leave at work, so my planned trip to France on the motorbike has had to be postponed.

The sooner it's over, the better, IMHO.

God the ignorance of some people is astonishing... We did have an English manager before Capello and after Goran-Eriksson; Steve McClaren.

Exactly. Sad person who feels the need to moan about what 90% of the world is interested in...

So you would rather watch paint dry than support your nation in the world cup?

Motogp at Assen tomorrow,British Superbikes from Mallory Park on Sunday, F1 in Spain also on Sunday, bees buzzing on the telly while I sleep later on.

Some pointless prancing and grunting (mostly by the women) for the next week that has some Scottish bloke being "adopted" by sunburnt (for a change) Londonners.

The lads at work keep going on about South Africa, but the World Supers were there a couple of months ago, so that can't be it.

Have you ever went to a game?
In particular a derby with your local team.
Its completely different experience from watching it on the box.

I personally couldn't live without football on a saturday, I'd be lost the now if it wasn't for the work cup.

However same goes for moto gp/f1.

And England scoring one goal in 3 hours of football isn't watching paint dry?

Not quite sure what the point of this thread is.

I know nothing about rugby or cricket, so remind me to post something similar come the Rugby World Cup or the Ashes.

You don't watch football just for the goals. You watch it for the entertaining game. Formula 1 is good at the start and then st bar a couple of crashes and the odd takeover.

This exact thread has come up about a dozen times over the past few weeks. Generally, it degenerates into PHers showing off about how little they know about football...

Haha. I agree. It's cool to dislike football on an anonymous forum and go against the system

Did you really need to create another thread on the subject? Some members here don't like football, we get it. It's a big forum about cars so it's not the biggest surprise that at least some people don't like a particular sport
