I have absolutely no idea how this has happened but I have managed to scratch the top screen on my 7D, everything is still visible but it is annoying.

It has to be my fault as no-one else uses the camera - just wish I could work out how I did it so I can avoid doing it again!

Anyway, the question I have is just how expensive it would be to replace this?

It's only a cover, you haven't actually damaged a "screen" as such.

Any decent camera shop should be able to get a replacement for you. Alternatively, contact Canon UK.

thanks all, when you say polish - what exactly do you mean, polish with what?

I was worried that to replace it they would have to open the body right up and that begins to sound expensive!

if it's plastic then Polywatch may do it, it is amazing stuff for polishing plastic style watch crystals.
