Help PC died - lost boot sector I think

Guys,

Any suggestions please.

My PC has gone AWOL - it was working fine, then suddenly the keyboard started playing up, so I rebooted - but it won't play ball.

It now won't bbot up - it says something along the line of can't see sector - I think that I may have corrupted my boot sector. I started from a windows CD and tried to do a repair Windows (it's XP Pro) and it says xan't find file.

Any ideas what can I do to repair - or do I need to reformat and reload XP + Office.

Sorry - I know it's not much detail, but any suggestions gratefully received.

They don't call me "Two PC's" for nothing !!!.

Tried to run Repair again and it fails saying "the path or file specified is not valid".

Any ideas ?.
