944s2 vs audi rs6

Very very quick.
In a straight line.
On a track they'll show there arse to many a hatch. Then their tyres will melt, the brakes will fade and the power will evaporate in the heat.
Why not buy a Supra and put a big single turbo on it if you want these type of thrills.

RS6 = 450 BHP ! Even with a curb weight of a round 1700 kg those Audis are still alarmingly quick !
And a fair bit more when chipped! I've driven a couple and yes indeed they are rather swift, not my cuppa tea at all tho.
Pretty sure Jeremy C matched his stock RS2 full of people to an RS6 (not sure if chipped) full of people from pull away to 100'ish' at brunters last yr tho.
I think that you'd be surprised about the capabilities of the RS6 on track. I took one to a couple of trackdays last year (including a PCGB day at Brands) and it was surprising how well it cornered. Hairpins it suffers from understeer (with the engine right out up front), but in high speed corners it is possibly faster than my 993 (the Audi has a self levelling system that really helps).
Tyres weren't an issue at all, the main issue with a big heavy road car is brakes, but then that is not a problem unique to the Audi. Castrol SRF went a long way to solving the issue.

at least i think it was an rs6. well and truly humiliated in a straight line. 0-60 time must be extremely quick! anyone know an rs6 owner who fancies a swap for a 944s2?
...0-60 for the stock car is 4.6s. Not bad for a lardy automatic. I've always liked these cars (used to have an S8 - which I tracked at Donnington once!). Track performance isn't bad at all once the brakes are upgraded.
Apparently running costs are astronomical though. They have a tendancy to shatter their brake discs, and there are numerous wear-and-tear items that they eat like little sweets.
Still, a 4.2 litre biturbo V8 powered estate car must be fantastic for laughs. Not sure I fancy the Murcielago running costs though.

Didnt the RS6 have a big problem with the wheels shattering? I think it was when kerbed, althougb I might be wrong?
Still, I love the idea of the fastAudi estate, and I would live an S2/ RS2/4/6...
...the buckling wheels issue was with the RS4. This 'feature' was designed to protect the slightly fragile front suspension!
I've had my mildly tweeked RS6 for 10 months and 20000 miles. Apart from two services, a set of tyres and front pads last week, it's run without fault.
Did a 1000 mile round trip to Germany and back in a day last week, saw 180mph on the way, and came back with 300kgs in the boot!
If you are after a fast discreet all weather load lugger, it's hard to beat.

Porsche dealer neighbour advised an aspirant 9 buyer: buy the Audi if you want to go fast with the family. And it is the safer car . . .
Amazing statement . . .
Would go for the big P cos Audi doesn't look happy and really: in the seat of a P you feel king and in the seat of the Audi you feel daddy . . .
