Back on 2002 i ordered a BMW 330 Convertible, remembering the 9 months of waiting. Anyhow when i picked up the car i thought to my self on the way home that i had gone off the car and sold it 1 month later...

Anyone sold up any quicker.

Bought a Yamaha XT125 when I was doing my DAS. Only filled it up with petrol twice and did less than 300 miles. I don't even think the ink was dry on the V5 before I part-ex'd it after passing.

Had a brand new yamaha RD 350 many years ago. Waited ages for it. Less than 24hrs and 110 miles on the clock a nice gentleman came the wrong way around a bend on a one-way system and wrote it off with me on it.

Does that count?

I ordered a white focus RS but it took months for it to come. In the meantime I found a Green one and bought that. I sold the white one before it arrived. When it did turn up I drove it off the forecourt and round the corner where the new owner picked it up. So about 5 minutes.

Has indeed been done before!

One Mr D. B's Discovery, 8 miles on the odometer when it threw a rod out the side of the block! Needless to say he gave it back at that point.

My wife can beat you all. Bought a used Octavia from a main (not Skoda) dealer. Got it home and mentioned something to me about one of the windows not working. I went out to look and only the driver's window worked, the heater fan didn't work, couldn't open the passenger door from inside, wouldn't go into 5th gear and a host of other things wrong.

It was back at the dealer and refunded within 2 hours.

-3 (minus three) days. My first car was a Sierra Sapphire 2.0i GLS in black. 3 days before I was due to pick it up, I got a phone call. "Er, we are sorry but the valeter just wrote your car off". According to the bloke, they had hit a patch of ice and spun out, hitting an HGV. Now, whether this was a fib and they had sold the car to someone else, I dunno. They didn't mind me keeping the service history, receipts etc, so it was possibly genuine.

I had a suzuki SJ for a fortnight. My missus hated it and refused to get in it. Everyone at work took the piss badly and I got wet driving in the rain. I tok it to the auctions and it went in no time. Only lost about a ton.

The missus reminds me of this every time I want to do buy something that she thinks is a waste of money. I hate myself for giving her ammunition.

Why didn't you like it?

I've been in two different Ultimas and I have found them the most raw experience in a car I've had, and that includes my Dad's Caterham. It was definitely quicker than an Enzo too...

Someone my dad used to work with bought a brand new Jaguar XJ8, only to find he didn't like the seats, so spent a week in and out the factory/dealership trying to get it right before he sold the car at quite a loss, only to see it for sale a few weeks later for the same price he bought it for. laugh
