rear clam underside heat shield / mat

Hi all what is used to stick the heat reflective mat on under side of clam ? the mat on my ultima is well secure , but i used a quality impact addesive on my fibreglass frogeye bonnet above the exhaust manifold ( cleaned and preped correctly before applying ) and only after a couple of trips its starting to unstick from the centre out ?? im assuming some mastic / tiger seal type sealer ?? cheers for any ideas , Dal

As you say it is stuck on with impact adhesive.
I gave mine a clean with brake cleaner and applied the adhesive in the normal manner leaving it to almost dry before bringing the parts together. They've been together now for six years.

Same as Steve - 8 1/2 years and doing fine.

I bought some heat matting from Think Automotive and at the same time some a good size can of heat resistant glue.

I've done a couple of outings and it seems to stay stuck.
