Lights on buzzer............how?
Discussion
So yeah, I may be getting slightly narked off with coming back to a flat battery. I'm not used to all this weird wiring. Im my Punto all I had to do was switch the ignition off and the all the lights went with it. Egay tell me about this lights on warning buzzer mod for which they're asking a fiver, which in all fairness is reasonable but I cant help feeling like its one of those things I could do myself, for free, in five minutes flat, but I don't know how, Do you? I like commas today

see here http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2... all the info you will need, and so easy a 4 year old could do it (well i have the mental age of a 4 year old so swmbo says

You'd think so, but it's the sidelights that got me. Coming home from a night shift with the lights on, clicked the stalk back a notch and watched the lids drop into the bonnet. By this time it was light outside so the lights in the dials and the crappy little bulbs outside were barely visible, and I was rough as a badger's arse anyways. 10 hours sleep later and I'm borrowing a jump starter to get to work...

But you have a Mk1 (i.e. pop-up lights) - surely there are a couple of big clues that you have left the lights on...
You can easily leave the sidelights on Lazza and with the ickle battery come back to a dead car.Easiest/cheapest '5 mod

I got a buzzer off ebay and wired it into the fuse panel. Its a really naff sound so wrapped copious amounts of electrical tape around it to soften the noise... Still not that nice but it stops me leaving the sidelights on now. Quite amusing when the tone of the buzzer fluctuates - sounds a bit del boy
I suppose could could go to town and source a different sort of buzzer - maybe one of those american style ones that 'pong' at you...
I got a diagram at home if anyone needs it

Pretty sure Maplin also do a buzzer that plays "The Yellow Road of Texas", followed by "Dixie", so all the fun of the fair really.
