Yes, as long as you do it as per instruction and then clean it off and reapply before it gets to it's smeary/ everything sticks to it phase.

And they support BRAKE so people around here will moan.
Pretty much this. It works very well if you apply it properly.

Great stuff Rain X...thumbup

I have found for best results put it on with a clean cloth (2 coats with a 5 min gap at least, between each) and then do the final buff with a microfibre towel/cloth.

I have never had it go all sticky on me. I always just rewash the windscreen as per normal and repply as above

PS Tesco are doing a pack of 5 micro fibre cloths (about the size of a face flannel) for £2 - bargain! Great for doing the inside/outside of the glass on the car as well as the body drying etc

Halfords own brand is equally good, and about half the price.

Shouldn't have any problems applying it today though.

Awesome product, hate driving a car that doesn't have it applied.

You can get 10 tubs of Rain-X wipes for the price of one pair of PIAA wipers...

For quick detailing between proper coats of wax I've been using 'showroom shine' on my car. It works really well on the glass too!

I've had great results with Aquapel, not sure if it lasts the claimed 6 months, but at least 3.

Rain-X strikes me as being the marmite of car products. I don't know anyone who doesn't either
  1. hate it
  2. love it
Personally, I fall into the former category - can't wait to get the stuff off whenever I have a car with it.

I only ever use it on the side/rear windows, mirrors and lights. I'm not convinced about using it on the windscreen.

Rain-X versus PPG Aquapel: Grudge Match
by John Neff (RSS feed) on Apr 17th 2006 at 7:03PM

Autoblog reader Josh Wardell, who loves his MINI Cooper very much thank you, has posted an interesting comparison test between the well known windshield treatment called Rain-X and a lesser known competitor named PPG Aquapel that's usually used by service professionals rather than vehicle owners. We hadn't heard much about PPG Aquapel so we were interested to learn which product Wardell found to more effectively whisked away rainwater over a period of time.

The results from Wardell's unofficial comparison test were surprising. After having applied both products to separate sides of his MINI's windshield, Wardell waited for rain and then taped the results at various stages, all the way from day one to day 72. What we learn from Wardell's accompanying video is that both windshield treatements need speeds above 40 mph to whisk rain away effectively, but that the windshield wipers dramatically reduce the effectiveness of Rain-X over time, whereas the PPG Aquapel side was still effective after 60 days.

We use Gtechniq G1 on the buggy window and that'll last 3 weekends of rallying + loads of dirt getting dragged across by the wipers, plus the associated testing.

Worth a shot, doesn't streak when the wipers go across like Rain-X either.
