The window in one of the rooms at the rear of the house, currently my office, has an 80/20 split or thereabouts, where the 20 can open and the big one can't. I hate this, there's barely airflow into the room with the window open, and it's like a greenhouse in the morning being east facing. I want to replace it with a 3 pane window split in something like the order of 15% / 70% / 15% where the 70% opens. Ideally I'd love to have all 3 bits open-able but I'll guess that's not possible hehe

Anyway, I'm not planning on having any of the other windows changed, any idea what the total cost would be for the windows and fitting? I'm way up north so no london rates please biggrin

edit - I did of course mean single exterior, and nothing to do with singing outside hehe

My front window is about 1800 x 900mm and I got a woodgrain effect 3-section d/g unit (both end sections opening) for about £400. I went direct to a small manufacturer in Colchester, and IIRC their fitting was £80.

One issue with small sections opening, like your 15%, is that the frame width means you don't get much glass left!

Just had a similar one done, about 5' x 3', 3 equal units, 2 opening.

£295 in Staffs.

Indeed, it rather makes it a 'no-brainer' - especially if you can fit it yourself. Mind you at £80 it's almost worth it to watch somebody else do it.

I was surprised too - it's amazing what marketing departments, salesmen and TV adverts do to the final price...
