Went out early in the sunshine and had to shoot down town to draw some cash. It was dead quiet in the town and as I'm standing at the bank machine a bloke walks over and stands looking at the car. Then without even glancing up at me he just said "Is there any better way to start off a beautiful Sunday". I thanked him for his thought, and he wandered on his way.

Makes all the hard work worth the effort. I had a very pleasurable drive after that.

Thanks mate, whoever you were.

I had a similar scenario on Friday night was a little later home than intended and decided to stop off on grab some fish and battered sausage, no fish as they were shutting (forgot how good a chippy can be!!).

The conversation went something like...

The nice bloke (NB) said... Is that your car?
ME ... Yes
NB ... That is awesome is that the one that lives up the ???? as was appreciating you taste the other day.
ME ... Yes that's me and thanks
NB ... Nice house and nice car well done mate

Very impressed with this guy he must have been 17-18 and very polite and knowledgeable really it seemed to make his night.

Then one of the girls said something like lovely colour you see them a lot in silver, to which the nice bloke put her straight.

So thanks to the chap in the chip shop (and thanks for the massive pile of chips but I couldn't finish them.)

Must be something in the water,

Was sat in car in Sainsburys car park, just about to set off and two blokes chip up and tap on window. At first I thought as I was gong to get gang raped as they were both big blokes with skin heads.

Anyway, he proceeded to compliment the car and have a look round etc. Had a good five minute chat with them about, usually car related stuff, they then went on way.

Nice to talk with like minded strangers.

we stopped in macdonalds for a scoff (i know) and just as we were leaving a man of a certain steriotype that is native to glasgow came up to me and was asking a few questions about the car, then said your car is proper braw mate shook my hand and then did the same to my 2 mates in the E30

im thinking proper braw is a compliment of sorts, still it lightened me up after a bit of a st day

I often get bikers giving the thumbs up, especially pillion riders.
Had a great one a few months ago driving into Southend. I pulled up at the lights next to a big line of bikers who looked like they were heading for a meet. As we pulled from the lights the biker at the front (an oldish, grizzled Harley rider) gave it a handful, so I responded with some throttle, to which he gave it more in return. We went on like this for four or five sets of lights getting faster and faster eventually just thrashing away at every opportunity.

When we eventually reached a roundabout where we would be parting company he gave a big thumbs up and I reciprocated. Big smiles all round and really good fun.
