JR Supercharger Spares

[T40ORA]

The actuator linkage on my JR 'charger has broken.

Anyone on here know if you can get spares, and where? Just started a Google search but nothing obvious and recent as yet.

If its the part that is pressed onto the shaft that connects the actuator to the bypass valve then I repair them by modifying a washer and welding it on.

Yeah, I was looking at something like that maybe using a rose joint. Bit of Heath-Robinson then?

Wasn't me!? Which car, the MX5 or the Tamora? Wife was in the MX5 and they've just mapped the Tamora at Racing Green and were taking it for a test run.

It was the Tamora, I was following from the Farnham roundabout through Wrecclesham and it turned off just before Bordon.

Well it sounded fantastic, can't comment on how it went as it was just following traffic Was being driven far too slowly to have been nicked

Good! But I told Bryan to give it some stick too, so I'll nag him when I collect tomorrow. You didn't get fumigated being behind it? Hopefully that means they've sorted the problem.

There wasn't any smoke that I could see, and in his defence there wasn't much room for giving it stick! But I'm sure when he turned off he found some space

I'm sure he did - it would have been rude not to.

It is rather noisy though, innit? About 110 dB so I'll need to do something before another track day.

I have seen people modify them in various ways but really a decent washer and then some grease should last many years.

They should be greased regularly to prevent this happening but no one ever bothers.

I sent a photo to these guys but they say that their bracket is not suitable, so it looks like OnlyMX5ives option of welding on a washer. I just have to find someone local to do the welding; as it's near to the bearings in the shaft I guess it has to be done carefully!

OnlyMX5ives - any further advice?

It only needs a couple of tack welds there's bugger all load on it.
