Hello,

My dad is just in the process of moving house. He's gone from a house on a housing estate with a small driveway and a tiny double garage into a house with a big drive for several cars and two garages, one will store 4 cars easily, the other probably 3.

The plan is to turn the smaller garage into a workshop, the bigger one will be a store for his current cars and other things. He already has a project on the go which needs finishing but I'm getting an itch to have a project of my own!

If/when I did decide to go ahead with something, I would be doing it on a tight budget, this is hypothetical at the moment so no real budget in mind but it just got me thinking of what I'd go for. What would you/have you gone for? Say for example, sub £6k? I don't live too far away from his new house so it would be viable to travel over after work and work on it of an evening.

I'm keen to hear your ideas...

Dan

I'd be thinking about a kit car of some sort.

More turbos. And possibly one of those engines made out of lots of busa engines.

Seriously though, I think on your budget getting a car and making it faster would be easier. MG Midget with a big engine maybe?

Sounds interesting! Possibly a bit over budget...or over ambitious!

Mini with a quick road engine, minilite wheels and uprated suspension would do me. If i ever manage to get enough space to do a project, then thats what im going to do

Old Volvo, maybe a 240, or an Amazon if i could find one. Otherwise a 740, or any of the big RWD ones with huge engine bays would do.

Then i'd put a small block Chevy in it.

Already have a big fast car, S4 Avant so would probably prefer a small car personally.

MX5 with an RB26DETT in it tongue out

Or maybe just an SR20DET in it. Could be fun, or a lot of hard work.

105E anglia with a sierra cosworth engine in it, someone did that years ago and use it for drag racing, was a hoot by all accounts
