Where do I stand with this.

Im going to look at a car tomorrow that has an MOT but no tax due to it not being used.

Obviously a test drive is going to be risky...

However should I actually want the car how on earth do I get it taxed without having proof its insured. Will obviously take a few days for my insurer to issue my new cover note. Is there anyway I can speed up the procedure?

Im guessing not frown

Im hoping iv missed a trick somewhere.

If the owner is still insured, see if he can tax it if you give him the money. That's what i've done in the past.

As for test drives, well, it depends on the police presence in your area, but find some nice country roads, and you should be fine.

Personally I browse past cars that don't have current tax. Not worth the hassle.
