Great! Like many petrol heads I sacrifice todays F1 race for the shower of *** world cup match and all it's over hyped pre madonna ****. Get home after half a dozen over priced frothy pints of *** thinking I'll watch Clarkson and his *** cohorts in the hope that TopGear have listened to folk and raised there game for the latest series. Within seconds I realise that the Beeb have sanctioned another series of family caravan calamities and turn to my V+ button ready to watch what should be a close race.

Blood and Sand!!!! Not only has said Virgin Box failed to record the race, ( it's NASA rivaling brain being fried between BBC1 and BBC2 due to Fabios *** Up's ), but it has recorded Eastenders omnibus twice!

I then spend an hour on the phone to Bangalore or where ever Branson employs kids, only to be told that if I, "rrreeboot", "everyting vill be fine sir!".

WILL IT *** !!!!! IF MISSED THE *** LOOOTTTT!!! GRAND PRIX + TOP GEAR! IT'S NOT EVEN ON CATCH UP. INSTEAD I'VE GOT THE **** TWEENIES, AND MORE EASTENDERS, AND SPRING *** WATCHH, AND..,.ARGHHH!

PS. Email courtsey of Virgin media!( If it got to you ! )

There were plenty of warnings about the race being on BBC2.

You should have stayed at home like any true F1 fan and not trusted in the vagaries of flakey digital technology or TV scheduling.

I hate Sky, the moment our area is cabled i will switch back to Virgin, but until then if i don't record the right channel i just deal with it.

Something definitely went a bit odd with V+ I've got about 4 partial and failed recordings but it did record the actual race.

Hi all. Not going nuts. I noticed that it was on BEEB2 well in advance so attempted to record as such. However box is set to record series on BEEB1 so don't know why the complete balls up. V+ showing 4 attempts to record. 2 x unknown channel 0.00hrs recording failed, + 2 x BBC1 partially recorded 3hrs 13mins. However 3hrs 13mins of albert square!

I'll never profess to being the absolute most die hard F1 fan as I'd sooner race at weekends than watch. That said I enjoy it when the racings close and get pissed off when I get home to find a service provider has failed to provide a service!

Since my original post I have indeed had another beer and calmed down however still a tad hacked off.

Looking forward to seeing them live at Goodwood in six days time!

Edmund.

PS. Spoken to a friend locally who also experienced same fault?

I just use the "scheduled recordings" tab on Friday night while MsCamp is getting ready for us to go out. Tells you what you're taping, when and advises of clashes. Works quite well. Also, be sure that the GP is set to top priority on the box so that you don't end up taping some crappy Eastenders special

That's just what you want out of a PVR box - not the ability to record programmes in the future, just to be told in advance that it won't record your programme so you'll have to watch it on a different channel.
