So, the Mrs. wants to visit London for a few days in August.
Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay.
Don't mind if its somewhere on the outskirts and then tube/bus/train in.
Not bothered if its a Premier or such like as long as it has got decent parking.
Also wouldn't mind a day at Brooklands.

Try this place http://www.bnbselect.com/bnb/38817
a small B&B on a good train link into London. halfway between Oxford and West End, so there are plenty of choices of places to visit.
Great eating out opportunities in the locality too.

I stayed here a few weeks ago: http://www.thebeaufort.co.uk/

Right in the middle of Knightsbridge 5 mins walk from the tube/Harrods. It was brill - free bar from 3pm till 11pm and a free afternoon tea too. Took the Mrs for a birthday she absolutely loved it - would definately stay again, plus if you book more than a month in advance your get something like 25% off.

I'd stay on the Eurostar for a couple of hours.

Etap near city airport is ok. Cheap and good links into town.

I stayed at Hendon Hall (pre-refurb) and it was really good wink (after all it's where the ref's get put up when "working" at Wembley!)

Hand Picked are always doing special offers - when I stayed there I took the in-laws as well, and it cost about £150 per couple for a night stay, dinner B&B and a glass of fizz pre-dinner.

Large car park as well wink Could be just the ticket?
