Rear Wheel Bearing 2002 M12 GTO
Discussion
The PH search engine seems to be playing up at the moment so can anyone help with a (Ford?) part number for the above. I think the QH part is QWB831.
I'm experiencing a metal on metal grating noise (not loud) from the drivers side rear wheel area (I think) when I turn left, which then disappears when I straighten up or twitch the car to the right. There is nothing obvious looking at the suspension or brakes (no obvious shiny metal to metal telltales). I've cleaned out all the rust, and run the car with the handbrake shoes removed - no change. The noise doesn't change pitch or go away when you run with the handbrake or footbrake on. I don't think it's a CV joint as there is no clicking sound just this grating noise. A bearing is the next thing I can think of unles you guy's can suggest anything different to try!! Cheers.

I replaced the rear wheel bearing in my GT03 recently, its a common bearing which both BMW and Porsche use (not ford)... I went to German and Swedish and got it for an E36 BMW 325i (all E36 2L and above I think) and it cost £11.
Its also fitted to porsche 996 and boxster but cheaper if its called a BMW bearing
Im sure the 2.5 uses the same upright
