Seems like a good price for a 00 RR, the colour is a personal thing (I love purple) air con MAY be a problem, I don't have it on mine and will wait till summer to find out if it's a problem for me. You can have air con retrofitted by the factory for the same price as the option when new (£1900 IIRC).
Has it had any engine work done?
Should you buy it? that's something only you can answer but I was in a similar position to yourself a while ago, (Purple Cerbera) as a TVR newbie, but I thought what the hell you only live once.
It may help if you went along to your local TVRCC meeting and have a chat to some owners (I wish I had) to get real life views (without the bull****) you tend to get on here from non owners.
Good luck whatever you decide.
Alan

edited to add, you may be lucky and find the previous owner or somebody who knows the car on here.

Check to see if any engine work has been done, due to the year and the low mileage, don't want any nasty surprises.
Not to say you will.I think you'll have to check with the factory on that one.Not sure if you get any paperwork to say what's been done.
As for the aircon,it's a good idea as it deals with the heat the engine knocks out!And boy can it knock some out!! But i have found that whenever the weather is warm enough the roof is off anyway.Probably only used mine a few times last summer,no way near enough as its shagged now.(another thing to get sorted)It was never to great anyway.
keep in mind that it'll be better for resale though, even if you don't use it.
have fun looking

Alan, the chances are that I'm going to be moving from a Cerb to a Tuscan in the next few months - any chance you could give me a bit of feedback on your thoughts having made the switch, especially regarding performance?

The only times I wish I had aircon is when its raining. With the roof off there is no point to AC and if its not raining the roof is off (most of the time) and its only another thing to maintain/have problems with (Not that I have heard of any AC problems).

On the engine front - try and check that it has had mods done however don't be too anal about it. Also try and speak to the previous owner if you can.

Cerb V Tusc, performance in the real world between my 4.5 Cerb and the 4.0 RR Tusc is minimal. The acceleration of the Tusc is more "explosive" proberbly due to the free reving nature of the S6. I do miss the cerb but I don't regret changing to the tusc. Last summer I didn't drive the cerb much due to the weather making the car a sauna (even with the air con on) which kind of defeats the object, so convertible was the way to go.

What about a June 2000 Tuscan RR with less than dry only 2000 miles on the clock in Bentley Fireglow which is a far more normal metallic mid red colour. Dark red seats, beige carpet, interior mix of dark red/magnolia. One owner from new (me) full TVR dealer history, high level rear brake light, door kick plates, 1 year MOT and tax for the same price. As new condition. No engine work been required.

I might be interested (for a little bit less money). Just got to sell that Cerb & sort everything else out first...
