My front 2 alloys need a refurb after A garage I use put them face down on the floor when cleaning the brakes (I know...), leaving a ring of deep scratches around the centre of each wheel. They are 18 spoke wheels and most of the spokes have at least some damage.

I'd really appreciate a guestimate for a repair/refurb so I know what kind of figure to talk to the garage about when I take it back this afternoon (assuming they will 'play ball').

Cheers- appreciate that, about what I was thinking.

Just rang a place though and as they're 'diamond cut' that complicates things. This is going from bad to worse. Don't even know if the garage will stump up yet...

Most Aluminium based alloys are cut using diamond tools - They cut faster and last longer than other materials.

I would suspect that they are taking you up the garden path on this, especially for the spokes which are an "as cast" feature which is then blasted and polished up to fininsh. the only machined faces on a wheel are the ridge the type bead sits in (x2) and the hub inside diameter and face and possibly the bolt holes and chamfers (x4/5).
