Does anyone have any recommendations for the hire of a car for track days? The R400 is currently seeing an engine doctor, and I am guessing will be unavailable for at least the first of my booked dates. First, Silverstone mid July, and then two in August (Rockingham and Croft).

Not sure where to start here - have done a google, but not a lot came up. Does anyone have any experience with track day rentals?

Cheers Bradders.

The PH Oily Pages have a few listed

Not tried any of them though!

Ta for the heads up. Some of the links are dead, but there are a few that may be of use - will give them a shout.

Elise...

thetrackdayclub.com/elise-hire

or...

elisexperience.com (site under construction, so currently incomplete)

It's an Elise S1, standard engine, slightly lowered and on Exige S1 suspension. Not the fastest thing in a straight line but a great handling car and a lot of fun to drive. Basic cost of hire is £450 per day not including insurance which is optional. That applies to Oulton Park. For other circuits reasonable costs are added for transport and occasionally accommodation.

I can thoroughly recommend Track Club. I've used them a few times for friends and family.

Cheers chaps. It's always better to use a good recommendation from a previous customer.

Will give them a call and let you know how I get on.

If you are doing BaT events they have Caterhams for hire. I've done a few trackdays in their R400 race car it's very impressive and I like the "no hassle" idea of just turning up and driving, without all the faffage of bearding and worring about fuel etc.
