Yes, let's absolve Israel of any wrong doing ever because someone set fire to a tent.

You are right though; the last time Israel attacked the UN they used far greater ordnance than a match, so this probably wasn't them.

typical muslim scum, the kids might have had some fun in the gaza strip, so better burn the lot rather than risk the kids mixing
guess hamas wants to be the only people to run summer camps, maybe they have a game with mock ak-47's and suicide belts ?

So some Gazans burn down a tent that's normally used by children. Result? - no tent and some upset children.

From another UK newspaper:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleea...

Result? - 5 children lose their lives and 5 families are also destroyed in the process. There again, the Israelis believe that their lives are worth more than others, that is the unfortunate arrogance of a nation that will ultimately bring it's own downfall.

That's the real perspective. It's a real shame that there are still those so uneducated and biased with their heads still in the sand.

Can't we just have an Israel/Palestine sticky or even a sub-forum?

They're not all fundamentalist, kids summer camp burning, nutters are they?

We have some down the road from us and I don't think they've tried to set fire to our bouncy castle or the local play park.

I believe he is trying to imply that Hamas wants to maintain itself as the only entity that ever does anything positive for the Gazans. This makes sense as a motive; not being Muslim, but rather protecting their status.

Not again.....

Can't we ever debate this sort of topic without decending into chaos? Keep it civil chaps, you know the score otherwise.

rofl OK Dad, I'll try

Actually I was making a serious point (although clearly not doing it very well!) My point being that rival factions within Gaza seem determined to destroy anything even remotely "good" for the local people if they feel that their own "interests" are being challenged. Usually, when the people of Gaza are made to suffer it is the Israelis to whom the finger of blame is pointed (often rightly so imho). In the same way that there are people who appear to be willing apologists for Israel, regardless of what they do ( and I don't count myself as one of those) there are equally people who will be determined to absolve the extremists in Gaza for the sufferings they inflict on their own people. Usually such apologists find a way to blame Israel. - hence my comment

Anyway, as you were.....
