Does anyone have experience of running a 118d drop top?

Just looking for a real world write up as a family member is considering getting one and i've only driven the coupe so can't really comment on how noisy they are on the motorway etc..

I run a 123D but the ride will be similar. Used to own a Golf GT and road noise was intrusive. Not so with the 1 series - it is a surprisingly composed ride. Still quite firm even in SE guise as mine is, but feels very grown up. Some wind interaction with the soft top is apparent but it is all behind you at the back of the cabin. I expected it to be worse than it is and easily forgive this blemish. It's a very long time since I relished getting into a car and this one puts a smile on my face every trip.

Thanks for the feedback - useful to know. I was also concerned about the level of wind noise you'd get. Especially as it'll be used year round for commuting.

I found the convertible to be pretty good, had a lone car for a long period. Drove this back to back with the coupe and found them both to be pretty similar. Noise is more apparent as mentioned but not overwhelming, I think during heavy periods of rain I noticed the soft top most.

'Scutle shake' (SP??) is apparent from time to time but I'm not sure how this compares to other converibles.

Boot was a bit small for my liking, only minor though.
