My driver's side seat belt mechanism is knackered. Its not badly levelled etc, its just shagged.

Halfords dont sell seatbelts anymore, so does anyone know a cheap place to buy good quality belts that will fit a 1999 Griff? I am happy to fit it myself so mail order would be OK but if the supplier is in Kent that would be good. If not then maybe the main dealer will be as cheap as anywhere else - there's a first time for everything!

Thanks.

Europa do a range of reel inertia belts including one with an adjustable pendulum for non vertical fitments. I've used these before in a car which required the units to be tilted to fit and worked fine. They can be easily adjusted in situ and is a great cure for 'sticking belt syndrome'. I think they also do a variety of belt colours and stalk lengths also.

Unconventionally, I have found driving about 20 yards a good solution to sticking belt syndrome...something which strangely only afflicts the passenger seat belt. My theory is that the car always has a driver when it is parked and the seatbelt retracts ready for the next time it is used. The passenger seat belt locks when the car is used enthusiastically and the passenger seat is not occupied. Next time the car is used the seat belt is still locked...just a theory?
