Hi Guys,

Don't normally venture into this part of the forum but I've been offered a J reg MX-5 J-Limited (is that a 1992?) for £1300 from a friend. It's been looked after but has been stored in a garage for 1-2 years. Has a bit of bonnet paint chipping (bad respray?), nothing too serious though.

Extras include: split rim alloys, recent new suspension to raise the height and a Larini exhaust. I'm under the impression that there were only 800 made in Japan so they're fairly rare.

He's a good bloke and a member of the owners club with 2 other MX5s. An MX5 wasn't necessarily on the shopping list but it does seem like a good buy.

What do you think?

I'd say go for it.

If you join the owners club you'll find there are two other J's in the Western Region so you'll be in good company.

(Unless of course yours is one of these two!)

Thanks. I think it does seem like a reasonable buy. It could do with a bit of minor work to tart it up a little but nothing I can't handle.

I think the price is reasonable, it's just whether I can convince the Mrs that a bright yellow MX5 is what she should drive to work most days a week!

Let's hope it's not too camp for a bloke (myself) to drive at the weekends!!!

You would expect a yellow MX5 to look a bit ghey but most people I se driving them seem to be male.
I really like them myself whistle

Do it.

You'll regret not doing it, and you will find yourself driving it more than SWMBO..

Thanks guys, just got to persuade SWMBO now. I think if she sees it she'll like it more then the description 'yellow MX5'!
