40th approaching this september and I am going to hire a supercar for 2 days. What are you suggestions for an unforgetable experience. Budget is around £1400 for 2 days. Also does anyone have any recommendations for hire companies in the berkshire, hampshire, surrey, oxfordshire areas.

Short list so far is:

Ferrari 430 Spider
Ferarri California
galliardo Spider
R8 Spider

Many thanks for your thoughts

I'd say the California, purely on the basis that i've never seen one and seen plenty of the others.
If not that,then the Gallardo.

For the sheer 'sense of occasion' it has to be the Lambo. That's what I would go for anyhoooo.

What do you plan to do whilst you have the car?

Pose about town?
Blast through lots of tunnels?
Enjoy some really great driving roads?
Take a bit of a GT weekend drive?

I've no personal experience of the car, however would expect the 430 spider to be able deliver any of the above no matter what proportion of your time you'd feel the urge to allocate to each activity.

Blast through lots of tunnels?
Enjoy some really great driving roads?
Take a bit of a GT weekend drive?

I'd never even consider the R8.Nothing about that car interests me at all,its a fast, expensive TT.

Good idea. However I want to treat as many people I know to a quick spin as well as take my wife away for the night as well so it needs to be on the road. Any other cars to put forward ?

I think it is more than that, however in the OPs list of alternatives it doesn't even register ...... I continue to wait for the first £30k R8 to pop up for me to sell my soul for

Out of your list i'd pick the 430 every time. Agree with others, please rule out the R8.

Check the mileage limits on each car as they could vary

"Having said that, I have driven the V10 Spider model and apart from being very quick, it's a bit ordinary to pedal."

Okay so the R8 is off the list for that special feel and the 430 Spider is so far winning but is there anything else ?

It won't have the sense of occasion or noise that the Lambo and 430 offer, but i don't know your taste,so i shall put a 997 turbo to you.

Last week I saw two Ferrari Californias and one Gallardo Spider. The California looked absolutely huge frown When I saw the second one I had just walked under a railway bridge and smiled and nodded my approval at the driver, so he kindly knocked it down a few cogs and floored it through the tunnel. It sounded like a lawnmower frown

The Gallardo though... wow - that sounded amazing! So my vote's for a 430 or Gallardo.

Not many places hiring them out is there? Will stand corrected if so.
