About this dress code thing..

Whats this all about? How long as this been running for? Is there some guy at the paddock gates turning people away if ya dress dont fit? http://www.lemansclassic.com/en/dress-codehttp://w...
Do you have paddock tickets for the race? If so it's advisable to be in long trousers and a reasonably smart shirt (think short sleeved buttoned jobby), or something period. Other than that, all other areas are accessible with normal Le Mans haute coirture.
You should be able to tour the paddock on Thurs with the traditional shirt and shorts

I've been to the past three Classic LMs with paddock passes each time. I'd say that people in the paddock may dress up but they do not dress down. I've got in OK wearing shorts and a polo shirt, and a T short on occasions too. The point is don't turn up at the paddock entrance looking like you've slept all week in what you're wearing, wear something clean and tidy, and you should be OK.

I wore a decent shirt in the paddock but the heat definitely but paid to any dressing up. I mean its a nice enough idea if you are staying in a motorhome/hotel but when two 6'+ blokes are driving from the UK in an old 911 and camping, the last thing you want to be doing is worrying about your spats and braces.
Long sleeved shirt and linen trousers with smart boots on Friday, short sleeved shirt, shorts and flip flops Sat and Sun - I know which I prefered.
Still, it would be nice for folks to actually keep their tops on, unless they're sub 30 year old ladies of course, then topless should be mandatory (apart from the huffermooses).

Also rather annoyed that no one checked my paddock pass...could have saved a few beer tokens there
yes funny one that one. My experience was that they checked the Paddock passes during the day time. Yet in the evening they stopped checking them and every one walked in. Although there was still a guy on the top steps entrance that did check. So if you were turned away from the top steps for having no tickets, just simply go round to the main entrance and walk in.

kss. You could dress anyway you liked. Good job really or the paddocks would have been bloody empty.
