Prey diet for Dogs.
Discussion
OK this is not a debate about the advantages or even supposed disadavantges of a natural diet over a manufactured dry food diet. I know which I think is best and what Schwartz prefers but ...
Has anyone got their dog on this type of diet (Prey). My doberman already gets raw steak with some raw and cooked veg and has a varied diet which only about 25% is made up of keeble so he is used to it but I quite like the idea of getting a rabbitt (plenty in supply) and basically skining it, removing head then give the rest to the dog.
Before anyone mentions dogs can not get Mixy by eating an infected rabbit. I asked my Vet about that one.

My lab gets fed on raw chicken, rabbit, fish and eggs as about 75% of his diet with the remainder being Burns dry food. I'd prefer to remove the dog food element entirely but sometimes it's convenient. He's fit as a fiddle and our last one similarly fed made it to his 17th birthday. He also gets several hours of hard exercise and swimming everyday, which is just as important.
I've been feeding my wirehair on arden grange dry food since he was a puppy, he's now 18 months old and nearly 40 kilos so nothing wrong with him. He gets nothing else at all bar the odd training treat and certainly no tit bits. I know people who feed tripe or raw food etc but its a total faf and I dont think its that much better for them compared to a good quality dried food.
