Celebrity restaurant for Stag do in London
Discussion
I really like Maze. Nice atmosphere, great food.
BUT, depends what you mean by "stuffy", and how "non-stuffy" your stag do's going to be
I went there with the Mrs. In addition to cracking food, we had a good go at the wine list. As did the couple next to us and we all had a great laugh

Maze?
Fifteen?
I've been to neither but I've heard very good things about both.
I had booked Maze(ironically they just called me chasing the reservation) but decided it looked a little stuffy, unless anyone knows otherwise?Fifteen?

Arsey staff, wine list is expensive and a bit predictable, steaks good but overpriced.

How many are in the stag group?
Maze Grill at the Chefs table/Butchers block might work but you will be away from the main bustle of the restaurant. Steaks are over priced but very good. Agree about the wine list but that is pretty true of most of Ramsey's places.
Numbers will make a big difference to the 'best' place to go....

I love the Butchers Block at Maze - right on the kitchen and overlooking the rest of the restaurant. The place is not very formal, but the food is great and it's enough of an occasion to make it memorable. The attached bar is also very nice for a few pre-dinner snifters. I don't think the wine is too expensive - although my bar bill there last times was nearly £1600 for the 11 of us.... What more do you need?

Next question (cant remember) is budget?
Wolseley would be ideal but wont do a table of 9 - would do a 4 and a 5 beside each other but that isnt ideal I guess?

Anyone have experience of Rhodes W1 Brasserie, I think it's definately between that and Maze - budget not an issue...
If budget is 'relaxed' what about a private dining room at somewhere like Rules? That might work but you will need to sort out your own atmosphere and entertainment as obviously upstairs or away from main room?Or on teh steak theme, Goodmans? Real boys place and lively....
