I dont know if anyone knows, goes or has been to Llanidloes Fancy Dress?! Many people have said that it is identical to Nottingham Carnival. Its the first Friday of July every year in the small town of Llanidloes where i live. The streets are packed full of 1000's of people with bands, stalls and fair rides on the street. It is a brilliant night out and i thought it would be quite interesting the hear if anyone is going this year or have been in past years?!

Yeah I've been a few times (Newtown lad!)

Always was a great crack, my most successful year was when I went in all white as Agassi, complete with white bandana!! Got a few hearts a flutterin' I can tell you hehe

That's generally the problem! It'd be a lovely country if there weren't.

Theres many people that come from all over the UK not just in Wales, I met a couple last year who came from Peebles in Scotland!! Must be quite an attractive event! I went as Alice in Wonderland last year with a few of my mates dressed as Cheshire cat, queen of hearts etc was fab! This year we are going as pirates, just managed to finish the costume! smile

LOL, I assume you mean the Notting Hill carnival?

Unless there's a more gun-friendly East Midlands version... biggrin

No, but I've spent many hours off-roading on the top of the mountain near Llanidloes with the wind farm whilst dressed in camo gear and camping at -10 degrees C.

Does that count?

Small world, I went to uni with a couple of girls from Llanidloes that are there each year. Always looked like really good fun from the pictures i have seen, proper fancy dress! Should make the effort to go and see them at the same time...

Hey! Nothing wrong with the welsh, it was an honest spelling mistake ,I think most people with a brain cell would understand that.

Sounds like good fun, love the mountains and hills up the road from Llani, some great walks up there. And yea, proper freezing when camping, done it many of times! :P

Spelling mistake? A spelling mistake would be to have typed Nitting Hill or Notting Hull, that would have been understandable but you've just had a blonde moment, spelling mistake my arse, next you'll be claiming it was your dyslexia made you do it wink

Yea, I've noticed they do that when you walk in shops over there, perfectly happy talking english then you walk in obviously from out of town and they switch to welsh just because they can, bloody ignorant it is.
