Whether they would be able to tell depends on how good the match is!
Pale metallics & esp silvers can be a PITA & if you finish a colour coat at a panel edge it is usually best to blend into the adjacent panel.
Could the scratches be polished out? If so you would be better finding a Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) company in your area.

The only real way to know which bodyshop is any good, is to go by recommendations. There is every chance you'd get a "good enough" repair for a couple of hundred quid, after all, it only has to look ok for a day or 2. It'll be a bit of a gamble handing the car back & hoping they dont spot the repairs though...

Without soundig daft, don't you have insurance taken out with the hire car?? if so the damage in not your problem. It is covered by the terms of the agreement and the insurance.

If there's no paint damage, call a Paintless Dent Removal Technician. Google PDR in your area.
