For anyone who has an accident! Same level two years in a row and only then can it be reduced. If you have another accident in the first year your premium doubles again.

So fkin tired of these dickless wonders who keep crashing. Im no schumi nor am i any form of einstein yet i seem capable of driving more than 5 m down the road without crashing why cant everyone else.

Two days in a row i have sat for over an hr trying to get over qe2 bridge because of aholes crashing. I can only hope they are dead or so traumatised they never try get behind the wheel of a car again.

1/10

Poor Show.

I am sure at least 50% have probably had a bump over our driving careers.

Ahhh yes the body bag delay.

I don't mind sitting in a traffic jam... but I do expect to see at least 1 body bag for each half hour of waiting!

What of those that who have accidents that aren't their fault? Or those who have an accident as a result of someone else's driving (if the crasher is avoiding the idiot who then drives off)? Or something that's due to mechanical failure that's deemed to be the driver's fault?

The rules that would need to govern this would make it impossible to govern.

(Not a horrendous idea in principle though)

That easy - No insurance should result in execution by firing squad!

Personally I can't understand why I get charged for each and every car/bike, when I can only drive/ride one at a time and have to pay £1000s every year, when I haven't have a single claim in 25 years.

Good driving is no accident

They should introduce the compulsory 3rd party insurance as a component of VED (similar to the "rego" in Australia and several other countries where tax includes 3rd party liability). Untaxed cars are easily detected, and should be crushed. Their owners should be prosecuted.

Comprehensive/first party insurance sold via commercial insurers is then optional.

I always thought they pretty much do if you have an at fault crash.

Back in 2008 when an old guy crashed into me I got some quotes based on the insurers going 50/50 on the claim. It was double what I had paid for that year's insurance.

Luckily they realised I wasn't at fault.

not saying it would be easy but am at the point where i think all cars should have one of those accident monitering cameras installed.

As for body bags they are of no interest to me as apposed to most other road users it seems who feel the need to slow down and stare at the scene rather than the road.

to a degree i think they do but they dont make it obvious as in actually point out that its why your premium is so high.

Also if they only double it then maybe they should triple it. As far as i am concerned the key is the 2 year constant high level.

If you premium stays double for two years and you crash again within the first year then it doubles again.
The worst offenders will either pay through the nose or be forced to clean up their act or give up driving.

To that end no insurance should carry a severly harsh penalty for a second offnece to make it a non option.

What if someone had a heart attack? Or swerved to avoid knocking over a child? Not all accidents are caused by people driving like a dick.

"Oh, he managed to avoid killing a kid. Let's congratulatory hike his premium up by 100%."

Totally agree.

Frankly, I don't care whether a person insures their car or not. But I care very much that they have insurance to cover any damage that it causes to me or my property.

Now that I could go for. Cameras that store locally the last 5 minutes of driving. And can sense a crash and save it off for the plod/insurance to review.

And it would take about a day until you could have it removed round the back of Tesco's for the right price...

Thats easy. No camera/tampered camera case = automatic fault against you personally. Not your insurance co.

And make sure the camera breaks when you remove the case, just keeping the memory intact.

Is it just me that is angered by this as its coming up to my 17th and im getting lessons for my birthday?
Just thinking about it maybe people with this kind of attitude (OP) are the reason so many youngsters are in trouble and have criminal records today,
I myself know this as have court on the 7th!

Anyone using the services of an ambulance chasing "accident management" parosite, to fraudulently fake whiplash claims should be banned, castrated, flogged, sodomised, and forced to listen to Dizzie Rascal 24/7.

Anybody else confused ?

Crashing is not a crime. Your actions leading up to it might be. But then if you actions are criminal...I'd think a criminal record is fair cop really.

But what that has to do with the thread subject is beyond me....
