Had to get the Corsa serviced and go shocked at the labour figure of £68.50 yikes...only foudn this out after I paid the extortionate service bill.

Now to me this is expensive, but I'm sure theres more expensive ones out there, any examples?

That's cheap. Where do you take it?

I've had labour bills for well over ten times that amount in the past.

The service amount isn't really shocking unless we have a scale of work to compare it to.

If it was for changing a bulb, that's shocking.

If it was for re-shelling your car, you got a bit of a bargain!

The last bill that I had for my car (last week) was £450 for labour. But that was 9 hours worth. Still shocked me at the time frown

I am assuming you want Corsa related stories?

I would faint with joy if I got that sort of a labour charge for either of my cars.

If it was a dealer that's probably only about an hour labour, so maybe not that expensive...

Ok, ok , so maybe no that impressive, but for a normal service and a change of brake pads was £355!! Which considering the last service was £165, I was pretty shocked.

Jesus... I think a minor service is aobut £70 and a full on major is £150 with a full list of everything checked on the car from my local independant...

Aye, this is a franchised dealer, so that probably explains it. I only used it as it is 5 mins from the office, so very handy. My usual mechanic is 25 miles from my house, so 60 miles from the office.

I'll be using him next time, you can bet on that!!!

Suppose with places like that, you would hope the price would be equivilent to the quality of service.

Serious question, how much were you expecting for 9 hours labour?! £50/hour is not a bad rate at all!

Quite shocking considering it is mostly unskilled labour. It's one of the reasons I do all work on my cars myself, the other is that I know for certain that the work has both been done, and to a good standard.

Ouch. You could've just bought a new one.
