Where do wedge seats come from
Discussion
They are all of those things
They were built for TVR by Cambro who built seats for most of the British car industry which is why they look familiar... but they are NOT exactly as used in any other car. Some later TVR model seats will fit in a Wedge but again, they're not exactly the same seat.

If you want to improve on the runners (or, as I found, the runners have seized due to corrosion from damp carpets) then find a pair of subframes from a Maestro. They bolt straight on, although you need to cut and re-weld the link bar betwen the two rails. This gives a much more convenient fore/aft adjustment and locks both rails rather than just one as on the original frames.
Works on the Esprit as well:

How much do you want for the SAEC seats? The frame has collapsed on the drivers side seat in my 350i. Would have to re-cover in Magnolia to match, but if the price is reasonable I'm interested.

Try them and see?
Probably, would be my guess; the S has a similar chassis layout so the seat wells aren't very wide. Also, TVR probably tried to keep costs down (actually we know they did, the S was far cheaper to produce than the Wedges) so any way they could use what they knew/had would have been good.

Sorry JR yes it was
OK, I don't know the answer to your question but for someone who does know, what are you trying to do? There were two types of wedge seat with the later ones having a much shorter squab. Which wedge are you trying to fit the seats into as the answer may be different? Having said all that I agree with Ian that it's likely that S seats will fit for the reason stated above and the S being a small car, relatively. Also consider how much side support you'd like. The MX5 solution mentioned above is not to my taste but is probably the least initial cost option (the leather is thin and so wears faster than TVR stuff) and if it keeps another wedge on the road then fair play.
Hi JR what im trying to do is replace my seats which are not even leather they are pvc with some better quality seats but having my own recovered seems far to expensive so as there seem to be a good deal of the S type seats available in leather this seemed like a perfect solution.
Obviously i need to be certain that they will fit as if they wont fit i will be left with an embarassing buy.
Best regards Paul
