Where have all the E12 M535i's gone? I used to have one in the 1980's & not seen one on the road for some time.

Most have rotted away, a few have been broken for parts and yes there are still a few around and in stunning condition. A serious collectors car and very rare in 2010. A great drive I believe too!!

There are probably a handful dotted round the country, living a pampered existence under a car cover in a heated garage, and doing double figure mileages between MOTs.

The rest will have gone, many years ago, to the same place all the other E12 5 series have gone. The breakers yard.

I run a register for all known surviving BMW E12 M535i's and out of the 1410 that were originally made, there are only about 200 known still in existence, I suspect that there will be more but not too many

Interestingly enough, despite only 450 of those being UK market RHD cars, about 1/2 of the surviving cars are UK cars
