I'm bored and want a toy.

I want a manual V8 but having had a TVR (well a few) before I simply can't be doing with the unreliability (and a couple more seats would be handy).

After thinking about it the Monaro seems the obvious choice plus there seems to be quite a few supercharged 550ish bhp ones available.

Is it like a better built TVR or just too sanitized to compare ?

Plus they seem like utter bargains with low mileage 2004 around £12k

no, its a barge and nowhere near as lively but unlike a tvr it is reliable, comfy, wont kill you with glue fuems and if you want to get from a to z via the other 26 letters it will do it without thinking. Dont go for a 5.7, get a 6.0

oh most supercharged cars are like tvrs in that they are ticking timebombs waiting to explode as many were on stock internals, no intercooling etc

get a non supercharged, more than enough power. Actually as proven at the last rolling road day 90% of the supercharged cars made less than stock vxr8's

What are the std power outputs I thought the 5.7 was around 350 and the 6.0 was 400 all the SC's I've seen are IC'd and claim 550+.

One has forged internals but I don't really see that as a plus point as I know they can be a curse.

Thinking man's TVR? rofl

No, its a flashed up Australian taxi. A fast one to be fair, but thats what it is. Closer to a redneck's BMW M5 than a thinking man's TVR if we're making that sort of comparison.
