What tyres do people use and anywhere cheap in Yorkshire??

I currently use maxxis and r888 for the track.

Maxxis mav-1 great road tyre and good price at £54 (205/40/17)

Been using Kuhmo KU31's on my VX220 for the last couple of years loads of grip wet (far better than R888) and good in the dry. They are prety soft and don't last long but are dirt cheap.

If your running any sort of performance car then don't skimp on tyres - its the only thing keeping you on the road and not in a wall.
I use Falken FK45's on the Zed, loads better grip than the factory Bridgestones and cost £115 a corner rather than the £160 Bridgestones
As far as price goes - Blackcircles wins for price and ease of fitting.

Continental Sport Contact 3 on the Boxster, these are extremely good.

Toyo Proxy T1R’s on the Griff, not as good as the old Bridgstone SO3’s but OK and I’m limited for choice on the TVR.

tried most brands over the years and had varying results depending on which car they are fitted to.

Michellin pilot sports are fantastic on everything i have tried them on but cost a lot!

Toyo proxis T1R are a good cheapish tyre

falken 452 are also a good cheapish tyre

Pirelli P zero i found really poor and didn't last very long at all

i have had mixed results from GoodYear Eagle F1's and i am currently testing the F1 asymetricals at the mo and finding them very good! loads of grip in wet & dry and lasting fairly well too

Kumho, maxiss, sava, Nankang etc i would not touch ever again as you get what you pay for with tyres and running 600 BHP i intend to have the best contact with the road as possible

my advice is get the best you can afford but i would recommend goodyear f1 asymetrical for a cheaper tyre that will perform well

I'm fairly happy with mine too, vs the FK452 I had before.

Not a huge amount better per se, but a bit all over, and the improve wear, makes them worth the extra!

Just my back tyres seem to be nail attractors right now, but thankfully they are nice and wide so nails end up where you can patch hehe

I use mytyres.co.uk they also have reviews of each of the tyres rating them on dry & wet grip, dry & wet braking, wear and a few others points.

my favourite budget tyre are

Federal 595 SS

you can get them from Camskill cheap. were £50 a corner for the ST.

I prefer them to Falken as they seem to have a stiffer sidewall.
