I have seen the digital video and laser gun recorded speed of 42mph on a 30mph road. Driver not clearly identified. I have signed and returned the NIP as not brave enough returning it unsigned. Conditional offer has arrived. Read this site makes me think. So, can anything still be done in the hope that they will drop this case?

Not such that they will drop it. But, if it's a LTi 20/20 (weapon of choice in a talivan), you could go 'not guilty'. You should then insist on the video evidence (the entire session, not just the bit with you in it).
If you stand your ground, there is a sporting chance that they won't supply it (may depend on CPS area). If they don't, you should get a 'not guilty'. It won't be easy, you'll have to stand your ground and put up with a lot of legal lies from the CPS.
