MAte had his RS4 stolen this weekend, in Newbury. Forced the lock on the front door of house, stole laptop and found keys to RS4, which he has owned for 6 weeks.

Broke in during the night whilst owners asleep upstairs.

Don't forget to add it to the Wiki

You hear about this so often now, very sad. Hope the car is returned, if that's what he wants.

And sadly it is happening more and more down south in towns along the M3 corridor too whereas not so long ago it was the preserve of the north west.

Six weeks.

I'd be having a word with the dealer.

Since when was the RS4 a 'flash car'?

Anyway, sorry to hear of the loss.

Worryingly I hear that they are a favourite along with my new steed the R32.

Quick, discreet and with 4WD seems to be the shopping list for teeves.

I did criminal work for a while. I had three cases where people at dealerships knew where expensive cars had been sold to, and these were then stolen to order shortly afterwards.

A £40k car cant be considered flash when it is worth more than the average annual salary?

I should expect the owner whilst devasted is probably happier knowing the bugglar(s) found his keys and did not have to wake him+family to get them!

So what superlative do you reserve for a £100k Ferrari or a £300k Zonda then? rolleyes

The list price of a Land Rover Discovery diesel is £44,995 according to Parkers, and a Toyota Land Cruiser is £47,395. Are they 'flash' then?

Does it matter? I certainly wouldn't consider an RS4 to be an average car.

I am incredibly, disgustingly, vomit-inducingly rich, and i still consider the RS4 to be flash.

yep they are both flash- the 48k cruiser is a v8 top of the range jobbie- the yota equivalent of the range rover.

Disco's are definitely flash!

Does it matter?! The definition of the word "Flash" doesn't really need discussing under these circumstances does it? The RS4 is much more flash than a Lanrover if that helps.

Sorry to hear about the news.

Sorry. I guess it's just a pet hate of mine that anything even vaguely interesting is referred to as a 'flash car'.

Around my way a 316 with alloys is a flash car. I suppose it's relative.

'Flash' is a relative term. Someone driving about in a 15 year old peugeot 106, and has driven similar all their lives might consider a brand new 320d 'flash', whereas others will scoff at the boring 'repmobile'.

Thanks for your explanation Soovy smile
