So with the prices on these close to a new 997 Turbo....

Anyone want to share views as an ownership proposition?

Would be kept as a second car, but in Central'ish London
(secure parking).

Practicality for weekend usage?
Fit a set of golf clubs? Weekend away luggage?
Suitably GT for a blast down to Italy?
Track worthy?
Feel "special" even when not being driven at warp speed?

Might as well ask the obvious... More hair curlingly
expensive to own than I might think? Depreciation?
Things to go wrong? Best colors for resale (I have
no interest in a red one!)

Great to drive, although steering a little light at higher speeds. Feels a lot smaller than it actually is when you're on the move, and you only really notice the size when you're parking. Eletric recaros are the most comfortable seats i've been in, and a long distance cruise down to Europe is a joy. Trunk is surprisingly small actually, and will fit weekend luggage, but might struggle with golf clubs (probably need to take the woods out and store separately). I'd say it's a very useable car all in all, and to keep for strictly weekend use only would be a shame.

Only ever driven a 599 HGTE for about 15 mins, but if it was my money that's where it'd go. The performance shocked the hell out of me having "only" ever driven cars with a max of ~250bhp/ton.

At the sort of price range you're talking, I would say that it's a heart rather than head choice. Given that both cars have more performance than you'll ever need, I'd go for the Fezza as it's far more stylish (it's far more appropriate for those roadtrips down to the Cote d'Azur and Tuscay!) and has 12 cylinders of Italian goodness biggrin That V12 is something truly unbelievable

I use mine daily and have done plenty of trips from Spain to England and back again. It's comfortable enough, though not an S-class, and it will hold enough luggage for a woman, well, almost... No golf clubs to test, sorry.

As for the track, it's great fun though I've only been to the Barca GP circuit. It measured 118dB so that may limit the tracks somewhat.

As for colours, in my opinion the darker the better but I'm not a fan of red anyway.
