I have been entrusted with a 599 to store and the owner has requested that I arrange to repair the scuffing (curbed) wheel rims. As these appear to be anodised aluminium? My usual wheel refurb. place can't help. I would appreciate any assistance!

Firstly check that they're not made from magnesium (as they are on the 360). If they are then you'll need a specialist repairer with experiance with magnesium - it is hygroscopic (absorbs water) and if it isn't done properly the paint will fall off in the future and the metal will be junk, like these 355 wheels that weren't done properly and ended up like this after a year:

I can recommend Roger at www.thewheelrestorer.co.uk/home.html (that's actually my 360 wheel shown!). Although he's in Wrexham he does arrange for a courier both ways.

Nice one Paul laugh not many Ferrari main dealers in Cumbria!

You got it Dave! thumbup

I suspect they may be magnesium, the owner says they are incredibly light. How to tell? They are the bolted rim type, should I post a picture?

Still need to find a specialist though!

Neil

If they are the bolted rim type I assume they're the HGTE wheel which I'm 99% certain not magnesium, you'll need somebody who can do diamond cutting to refinish the rim

I use the following company but a bit far for you I guess

I am assuming they are going to have to be sent away. There is one (pictured) bad and two less so, I think the fourth is OK but I need to recheck. The owner wants me to obtain a quote before committing, so maybe I can start with them. Hopefully they can give guidance on shipping and costs for that too.
