... the stupidest question of all time;

Can you wear a floppy sun hat, or will it fly off?

Thanks, etc

Depends on the airflow in the car. In the Caterham I can wear a silly sun hat or a cap without it flying off.

It'll stay on, how do you think all those other convertible owners keep their toupée's in place?

Dpends on the car as some offer better protection from buffeting than others. Assume you'll need a tight fitting hat at the very least or a loop of fabric to wear like a bonnet wink

My boss has a stunning A4 cab, no hat loss in that, but thats probably down to good design that you dont get in something like a renault 206

None of my hats have any kind of secure fastening device.

This could be an important budgeting consideration which i had hitherto overlooked.

The one time a cap did fly off, it blew around in the airflow and landed on the passenger seat - having a very steep windscreen produces some interesting airflows.

Hmmm, not a bad shout, if you are bald, make a velcro mohawk and line it up with your hat.

Not bad, wish I was bald now...

not really

in mine you can only wear a cap if it's back to front (but you look like a tosser)
other than that you are stuck with a tie down jobby.
You would be ably to wear a tilly hat as they have front and back straps.

I get a fair bit of wind through the hair, even with windows up and wind deflector up, but only at motorway speeds. In fact I seem to get less wind on my head with windows down - having them up seems to deflect all air on to my head. Fine design that.

Never lost headwear of any kind in the Alfa Spider, and being as folically challenged as I am, I wear a bonce covering device quite often!
