The missus has just popped out to pick the little 'un up from Brownies. She comes back in the house wondering who's visiting, as there is a car parked on the drive. Nobody. It's somebody who has been doing a job at a neighbour's house who parked it on my drive while he took his van home and came back.

There is loads of parking available on this street, and he chooses to plonk it on my drive? He came and apologized just as I was in the process of blocking him in with her car, but why? Why choose to use somebody else's drive instead of just parking on the road where there is room?

Is it just me?

Chillax dude, no harm done. Did I really say that, get in the shed and fetch your brake cleaner and apply with a brillo pad.

Not just you at all, I would have thrown a mental at him - it's your land that you (presumably) pay for so why the hell should he park on it?!?!

Is it possible that he mistook it for your neighbours? Are you both joined or something?

I would have thrown a can of red bull all over the front of it. Then thrown a mental.

Strange and quite rude imo, I have occasionaly asked strangers if I could use their driveway in very busy streets to unload tools from my van so as not to block the road. They have always been fine about it but I wouldn't just plonk a car in someones drive.

As I said to him, if he had asked it would have been fine!

Many years ago I came home to find a car parked on my drive - county show going on in the field at the far end of my road so street parking was in short supply.

I took great exception & borrowed my mate's trolley jack, & took 2 wheels off it, left it on bricks, locked the wheels in my garage & went out again.

VERY unhappy bunny was waiting for me when I got home - don't think he will be doing it again!!

The lady across the road from our garage and driveway entrance must run a childcare service as there are several cars that drop littl'uns off in the morning. Many of them use our drive to turn around in (which doesn't bother me much as there's no harm in that and they are straight off again) but one particularly makes a regular habit of parking up on the drive in front of half of the garage doors whilst she drops the sprog off. She gets out, gets spawn out of the car, gets bags out of car, wanders over the road, says goodbyes and chats to neighbour before coming back and heading off.

Now it is only a couple of minutes but it happens to be right at the time my wife leaves for work and whilst she doesn't need to get any of our four cars out of the garage, she does get picked up by a colleague who needs to pull onto the drive to collect her. We haven't actually had them both arrive at the same time but it does boil our blood a bit at the selfishness of the breeding woman!
