As the title says: Any suggestions from those who've made the trip to Le Mans before?
I'll be heading towards Falaise on the N158 before heading cross-country.

At Falaise turn right for Putanges Pont Ecrepain. There is a lovely little hotel there called Le Lion Verd. A wonderful place to stop next to the river - on the right in the town square - which I have used for 20 years. Rather than taking the N138 why not look at you map and take the little roads via Pré en Pail, Villaines, Sillé le Guillaume and you arrive just north of St. Saturnin? A lovely road that has plenty of restaurants and bars along the way. Incidentally, on your way back I'd advise an evening meal at Le Lion Verd. Bloody superb and not too dear.

Thanks lowdrag. I already have your suggested route noted down after you suggested it to me on an earlier thread
I was only going to take the main road until Falaise, intending to use it to get out of Caen before heading cross-country.
I estimate that Putanges Pont Ecrepain is just under an hour from the ferry terminal, so that looks pretty useful for breakfast - thanks mate.
