They'd ruin it, and for some reason I think they'd have a brown actor playing the starring role who has suffered racism at the Top Gun school and during an intense battle against British Petroleum (or other latest American "Axis of Evil") he saves the racist, they become friends and they have homosexual hugs at the end. I am also thinking they might substitute the oiled up volleyball for perhaps man on man nude oil wrestling instead, not sure :P

No you're not. I've watched it quite a few times and it never occurred to me that it was a gay film. I always assumed the muscley-men/volleyball bits and the whole Kelly McGillis love interest were there just to keep bored girlfriends interested (in which regard I can honestly say it was successful).And it's especially not true if you compare it to that Brokeback Mountain movie my wife made me watch about gay cowboys "because it's a beautiful love story".
