Going camping near to Oxford (just off A34 Jn 9 M40) at the weekend and having not travelled that way for a few years I was wondering which route will be the best. We are leaving at approx. 4.30pm on Friday.
Google has 3 routes :-

1. M1, M69 M40
2. M1, M42, M40
3. M1, A43, M40

Travelled down to London about a month ago and the M1 was ok for the whole way but it was on a Thurs morning.

Always weary of the A42/M40 as the A42 is dual.

Whats the A43 like. I know its been upgraded in the last few years.

Thanks in advance.

You should always pull over and have a coffee if you're weary while driving.

M69 is always a good alternative, as it's like a racetrack on there....
