Track a parcel with a customs number?

Does anyone know if this is possible? I am waiting for something from a US ebay seller (good rep and feedback), which was purchased almost a month ago now. The only info I have is a US customs number. The seller has been helpful, but I would like to know if I can find where it is.

Which courier / mail service did they use to send the item to you. They the sender / you should be able to do some sort of track and trace.

yes. as long as you have the tracking number that the sender have.
