Do people drive around in broad daylight in the beating sun with their fking lights on??! 50% of the time I look in my rear view and the car behind either has it's sides or dipped on for no reason! I know it doesn't particularly affect me, just gets on my tits.

Anyone want to enlighten me? No pun intended.

1) Better than driving in twilight with no lights on wobble
2) No harm done!
3) Do new Golf drivers (drivers of new Golfs, not drivers new to Golfs biggrin) have any option?

2. I feel it may desensitise drivers to bikes with daytime lights on.

Well now I am enlightened, I still don't understand the requirement for them. It's not always newer cars though. Meh!

A really good friend of mine (who is far from a chav) has a bright yellow Peugeot 106 GTI always drives around with his lights on. I questioned him about this in the pub the other week and his response was "People just don't see me in this bright yellow car, so I put my lights on and it actually helps". I can see the theory behind this, but his car is bright yellow laugh.. If people can't see him coming, then they shouldn't be on the road

i always drive with my dipped lights on. much more likely to be seen by other motorists. id rather be seen by other motorists and have i believe a statisticly proven lesser chance of a accident.

In the VX220 it significantly reduced the number of people who would try and occupy the same piece of road as me at the same time.

I've started doing this recently, having had a couple of non-fault accidents where people have said "Sorry - I just didn't see you".

My wife's car has the new DRL's which can't be turned off.

In Denmark - and I think other Scandinavian countries - it's a legal requirement, so not as unusual as you might think.
