I did the one at Snetterton a few years back , back then it was Viper 355, Lotus Esprit, 911 and it was a cracking day out

Not sure what the format would be now but Snett is a good track for this sort of thing

I've done a Ferrari F430 and Aston Martin DB9 track day at Prestwold Hall. To be honest I found it a bit mixed - the DB9 was fantastic as the instructor really let me have some fun with the car - whereas the F430, as brilliant a car as it is, was less enjoyable, principally because the instructor wouldn't let me rev it past 4000 rpm. Did get some great turns in, though.

Oh - and there's also a hell of a lot of waiting around to drive, for not really that long on the track. It was usually a 30-45 min wait to get in one of the cars, and only doing 5 laps of the 2-mile circuit.

As negative as my post sounds, it's still definitely worth a crack!

And the instructors are absolutely brilliant. Even after spinning the Jaguar JP1 at 110mph he was still shouting at me to get on with it. thumbup

And the 911 is st. By far the most boring car of the day (and I've owned two!)

Do report back on your experiences.

I attended a "Driveme.net" day in February (a gift from my family).

Not a brilliant experience - too much waiting and not enough driving.

A few laps in a Gallardo was ok:

Subaru was dreadful - clutch shot:

Other cars that were available (but your car allocation was decided before you arrived).

One of the instructors took me for a passenger ride in an Elise, and although I wasn't driving it, the Elise was (by far) the most FUN.

100% with you on this - I've never ever seen another place where are you allowed to drive at your maximum but they do nothing but encourage it at Palmersport! Absolutely awesome.

I've done a few 'experience' days at Knockhill.

Supercar (Ferrari) day is alright; much preferred the single seater day. Motor bike engined and considerably faster than the ferrari (or faster than you are allowed to drive the ferrari anyways)

Me and my dad have both driven a DBS at the Prodrive location with 6th Gear. Great day out, great tuition by friendly instructors and a decent track.

Plus a few absolutely stunning women working for them as well.
