Stuck on the A34 Southbound this morning? Give thanks....
Discussion
The A34 southbound this morning was closed just after Newbury. It'll be closed for some time. If you were in the traffic southbound being diverted off onto local roads you were probably very angry at the inconveniance.....
Well, all I can say is thank your lucky stars you didnt see what the cause was. I passed northbound as they were covering the remains. Police had just arrived and closed the road.
I've always thought it would be a great job being a traffic cop. Nope, changed my mind now. These guys have to deal with the most grusome of sights.
Not exactly sure what the cause was, but it looked like suicide by 40 tonner from where I was. Cant think of any other logical explanation. I might be wrong about this so please, no comments about 'inconsiderate ways of ending it all' before we know the facts.

I work in Newbury and travel from Southampton up there every day, I'm off today though thank god - heard it was a 3 hour delay or something?
Don't know what happened this morning, but a couple of weeks ago there was a woman killed by a 40 tonner in Newbury town centre, happened about 30 seconds before I drove past and I had the unfortunate priviledge of seeing the poor love's last breath, not a nice thing.
