As promised I have now fully sourced the hotels for the RNRII in September, slight alteration to one of the planned hotel as some inconsiderate person decided to get married in the chosen hotel in Ballater. But! I have secured another hotel on the desired route and gained a good price for the TVR Wedge Club. So to gain these deals we need to book the hotels as soon as possible, details as follows

Friday 24th September
Double Tree’s Aberdeen
To book http://doubletree.hilton.co.uk/HiWayWeb/appmanager...
The hotel has an advance purchase deal of £65.00 per room B&B, previous quoted price was £85

Saturday 25th September
Tor Na Coille
http://www.tornacoille.com/Facilities/Bedrooms/
To book call the hotel on 01330 822242, quote the TVR Wedge Club and you will get a deal of £70.00 per room B&B, the rates are normally £100 so a deal here !!!

This is a nice hotel on the outskirts of Banchory, if you want I can organise an evening dinner at the hotel or if you want a brisk walk into Banchory there are some good restaurants/pubs there as well. Let me know your preference and I will go with the majority.

I will pop this out to a wider audience once everyone has booked their rooms

Any problems drop me a note

Do i see more wedgers in this neck of the woods, what time you thinking of setting off?

We was thinking of around lunchtime, as i have done the run up Aberdeen rakes of times for work and know some good back roads that will get us up there before choas hour across the city.

What neck of the woods are you taking about ? (then how long from there to Aberdeen ?)
Living in the Midlands I could travel a few ways to the 4th bridge.
Would like to link up somewhere on route if possible.(thinking of the company whilst broken down, only joking eh)
cheers

hello rob

what would you estimate you journey time from yours to Aberdeen ?

what would you estimate your time to A720 south circular around Edinburgh ? (or are you going through)

Orignal plan A74M/ A702 to edinburgh could easly change to suit.

Your estimate about right, as been to sunderland again today, about 2.45hrs.

As for the blast to Fofar, cannot wait lick

Stephen

I used to do Aberdeen in around 4 hrs 10 ish, with a stop at Kinross.

To the A720 ring road around 1 45/2hr on a good day,it can vary so much the quickest i ever done the run to Aberdeen was 3 hr 15 the longest 9 hrs 15, T-in the park traffic.

It can take over a hour to get across the city somedays and it is a nightmare if you hit it at the wrong time.

Easy with whatever way you want to go.

Cheers

Rob

Fantastic, this is shaping up to a great run, so to keep you in the loop this week I am off to the hotels to arrange the exclusinve TVR parking plus I am going to speak to a very good small restaurant to see if they will do a set menu for a set price, if so I will send out the menu/prices for your consideration details here, http://www.lastella.co.uk/menu.html, I will also look into other places around the hotel to get the best choices, an italian and a chinese
Cheers

Right time to decide.... Rob would love to join you on the A720 circular road around Edinburgh, about 1-30/2 ish (if thats the route you are taking) before the 4th bridge, then we can all stop at Kinross services as planned.

will sent you my phone number closer to the date to ensure we meet up.

cheers
Stephen
