Can't see how this has answered it!If we had a proper Poll it would give us a definative answer. I'm not just talking about the past few weeks where the Iphone 4 has being coming out, I'm talking the past year or so where the Iphone is so popular it deserves it's own Forum page.
How the h*ll did Sat Navs break away from Gadgets and get their own Forum???

Why do you need a poll? You have an answer! There are currently two iPhone threads on the first page, which is hardly excessive especially considering the recent launch. There is also so much overlap between iPhone and computers that defining a split would be impractical.The long-standing sat nav forum is separate as it is a motoring related topic, which doesn't overlap into computing and similar topics.

You have an answer!I hear what you say about there being only 2 threads on iphone currently, but if you study the thread going with thousands of entries on it you will see that there are many multiple threads going within it. And there was one day recently when on the first page of CG&S out of the possible 12 Topics, 9 were Iphone related!!
In the past, forums are set up when there's a consistent requirement.
As is always the case, new games get released, new phones get released, new sat navs get released and so they will naturally dominate the forum discussion for a month or so - but that's no reason to give those topics their own forum. We've tried this in the past and it stifles debate and splits the forum too much.
The first 2 pages full of iPhones for a month is when it's needed, not 2 threads.

If Sat Navs were included in 'Gadgets'......which I would say they are, there would be ONE thread in the first 3 pages!!! Which kind of rubbishes that arguement Tony......

Tony, you, like me have our own opinions....who's to say either of us are right, but why not ask the many? I know 2 good friends on PH and who regulary contribute onto the CG&S Forum, they both agree with me.
Don't get me wrong, I have an Iphone 4, and have had a 3, 3GS and 2G, and neither of my mates have ever had one. So both sides of the coin are calling for it, why the reluctancy to get the peoples opinions?

dewaltman - give it up. Polls don't make for efficient decisions about structure of a forum because they are fashion driven.
If it bothers you that much, gather some hard data - count the number of iThreads in CG&S (and perhaps the number of new posts per iThread) every day for a month and post the results. Prove there's a need, not just a demand.
